I actually saw Bob wrestle a few times in Kansas City and studying his career for my Dory Funk book has really impressed upon me how good he was, as you said. His programs in the West Texas territory drew really well and he made enough money as the #2 babyface and at times, the number 1 heel in the 1950s to buy the ranch next door to Funk Sr's in Umbarger and to buy points in Kansas City from Gust Karras. His terms as NWA President are weak, his booking was weak in Central States but his wrestling career was really amazing
