In the humid Tennessee summer of 1976, the NWA Mid-America territory was a living, breathing organism of weekly cards, long drives, and carefully cultivated heat. Memphis, Nashville, and the surrounding towns still operated under the dual influence of Nick Gulas and the rising presence of Jerry Jarrett. Crowds packed the Mid-South Coliseum and smaller halls for a mix of established veterans, ambitious young talent, and the kind of intense personal rivalries that defined territorial wrestling. At the center of much of that heat stood Sam Bass—wrestler, manager, and one of the most effective heat-drawing figures in the territory’s recent history. On the night of July 26 and into the early hours of July 27, that figure, along with the masked tag team known as the Dominoes, was erased in a single fiery crash on Interstate 40.

I welcome back World Class Championship Wrestling historian and expert Lance Peterson. Lance shares his thoughts on the recent Curse of the Von Erichs documentary — honest analysis, historical context, and insight you won’t hear anywhere else.
Segment 2:
We continue The Life and Career of Dory Funk Sr. as 1966 kicks off. The first card of the new year takes us to Albuquerque, New Mexico. I dig into the history of pro wrestling in Albuquerque, local town promoter Mike London, the TV show of the era, and profiles on Iron Mike DiBiase and Sailor Art Thomas. Plus, a complete look at every card from January 1966 in Albuquerque.
Segment 3:
Steve Gennerelli is back with a brand-new mailbag. He’s been collecting your questions, and I’m ready for him to fire them my way. Territory history, booking, wrestlers, “what ifs” — nothing is off limits.

Another show after my own heart and I am always honored to be asked to come online with Randy Hales and the crew on Tuesday nights for this show! This past week we were review the Top Nights in the History of Memphis Wrestling and we looked at the 1972 Al Greene and Jackie Fargo hair match as well as the 1983 Jerry LAwler vs Bill Dundee Loser Leaves Town Match! Great stuff as always on this show, do yourself a favor and look at this weekly history lesson with Randy and his amazing panel of my friends!

I am now the official historian of the Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw Show and in our latest project to document the history of professional wrestling, we are doing The History of Texas Wrestling.
in Episode 7 we go back to Episode 6 to mention the first tag team match io Houston in 1936 and then the subject of the show focuses on tag team wrestling.
