Pro Wrestling Time Tunnel Presents: Personalities, Territories, Towns & Buildings Episode 19: Kansas City & Central States Territory, Jerry Oates and Mike George 1975 part two
Today on the show, I welcome two of my good friends to spend time with me at The Richards Ranch and talk about an important year in their careers. My first guest is Jerry Oates and this is Jerry’s second time to come on my show, back by popular demand. We got so many great comments from our viewers and listeners about Jerry and the Kansas City territory, I wanted to get Jerry back on as soon as possible. We picked up his time in Central States this time around as his run as the Central States Heavyweight Champion is coming to an end, but his program with homegrown Ed Wiskowski is just beginning. We cover the program between the two all over the towns of Central States. Jerry is also a partner with his brother, Ted in holding the NWA World Tag Team Titles and we’ll talk about those matches and foes as well. There are some new names in the territory you will recognize just starting out here in 1975.
Then, my buddy Mike George will join me to discuss his career in the first half of 1975, which he spent in the Central States territory. We will talk about how he got into the business and how and who broke him in. We’ll cover his time wrestling across Missouri, Iowa and Kansas and one of his tours to Japan where he shared the ring with Bruno Sammartino!
