The History of Texas Wrestling on Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw
More exciting news! I’ve been honored to join the legendary Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw crew for a brand-new series, The History of Texas Wrestling, and it’s off to a fantastic start.
Episode One (already available) kicked things off strong with special guests James Beard and Eric Embry diving into the early days of the Lone Star State’s wrestling scene.
This week, Episode Two drops with me (Tony Richards) taking the mic. We’re covering the rich historical roots from 1848 and the annexation of Texas into the United States, through the Civil War years, and into the early carnival and athletic show days up to 1910. It’s a deep, fascinating look at how Texas wrestling culture began long before the territories we know and love.
If you love territory history, strong storytelling, and the Brisco/Bradshaw chemistry, you don’t want to miss this series. Head over to the channel, subscribe, and turn on notifications so you catch Episode Two the moment it lands!
What part of Texas wrestling history are you most excited to hear about?
