I live quite close to Wigan, and it's remarkable how much this little town and nearby area spawned so many wrestlers and shaped so much of wrestling's history. One of the things that is interesting in the Daily Chronicle is that in many respects it is also a history of the 20th century, and the world events and changes in societies and cultures whilst in the ring the bell always rings and the referee counts three night after night over the century.

Thank you Barry…you statement was exactly my vision for this Substack and the Chronicle in particular, that it would be a retrospective and randon look at the territory era and the people who made it special. I appreciate you and your feedback, my friend

Thank you so much my friend. Your feedback that you liked something I did means the world to me. Lord Blears was amazing, I wish there was footage of him and Layton as a heel team. The dude loves to be 92 can you believe it? Had great genetics.
