Hi Tony. Regarding Gary Royal in ICW, I recall the Convertible Blondes being Pez Whitley and Rip Rogers. You mention Ricky Starr but I think he was a Convertible Blonde with Ray Gunkel in the 60s. Thanks for a great story on the Jr title change.
The trio of Rogers, Royal and Starr goes back to the beginning of ICW in 1979. Starr left and Whatley took his place, then Whatley & Rogers turned on Royal. Here's a link to the angle:
Awesome. I remember Royal in ICW but not the turn. Might have been before I started watching. I lived across the hall from Brad Batten when he wrestled in the group. Got to meet several of the guys through him.
